Festival of San Jose
The Festival of San Jose is held every March in the quaint town of San Jose del Cabo in honour of the city’s patron saint, St. Joseph (San Jose). San Jose del Cabo is located 18 miles north east of Cabo San Lucas and together with the tourist corridor which lies between them make up the area known as Los Cabos, home to your perfect Baja vacation rental.
The festivities of San Jose last 10 to 11 fun-filled days and culminate spectacularly on 19 March each year. The town’s celebration begins nightly during the weekdays and becomes an all day and all night event on the weekend leading up to 19 March.
The main street of downtown San Jose del Cabo, Blvd Mijares, is cordoned off for the gala festival. The newly built road behind town and parallel to Blvd Mijares is lined with delicious local food stuffs and handicraft vendors, carnival games, funhouses, and amusement rides. The newly designed Plaza Mijares is the site of nightly entertainment and music, the official ceremonies, and the choosing of the Spring Queen who will reign for one year.
The Festival of San Jose is a great opportunity to taste the divine local foods prepared fresh by the food vendors or to purchase that extra special souvenir of your excellent Baja vacation rental holiday.
