Skiing in Basko from Bulgaria villas
For those who love to spend a winter or spring holiday full of fun and activity in Bulgaria villas, why not try skiing in Bansko? The amazing Bansko skiing resort is located in the Pirin Mountains, in the south west of Bulgaria, and offers keen skiers wonderful pistes and the most up-to-date and well-equipped facilities.
Bansko is rapidly becoming one of the favourite skiing areas for Europeans. Not only is it known for the breathtaking beauty of its surroundings, for its great local food and friendly people, but also for its competitive prices. Owing to its abundant snowfalls, Bansko skiing season is one of the longest, starting in mid-December and ending in mid-May!
Skiing in Bansko
The two most important ski centres in Bansko are: the Chalin Valog with a height of 1,100 to 1,600 metres and the Shiligarnika with 1,700 to 2,500 metres. The facilities at Bansko skiing resort are fabulous. These include perfectly maintained slopes with several snow cannons, ensuring great snow for skiing all throughout the season, a modern eight-person gondola and detachable chairlifts.
There are ski runs suitable for everybody from beginners to expert skiers and also tree-line skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
Bansko town
Bansko is a gorgeous medieval town situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountains and near the Glazane River. Here the traveller will delight in culture and folklore. Bansko town has some beautiful ancient buildings that are worth visiting, such as the Velyanova Kashta, the Todeva Kashta and the Holy Trinity Church.
In the evening skiers will be able to enjoy a well deserved drink in front of a roaring fire in one of Bansko’s taverns or bars and perhaps try some of the local specialties. The Dedo Pene Tavern and the Milush Tavern are great choices. A delightful experience altogether!
